Twin Falls in Pickens County, SC
Photos and article by FastFred Ruddock
This journey began with a ride from Charleston to Asheville
and an unsuccessful hill climb. After daybreak it became painful apparent
that the hill climb was not possible under the wet and dark conditions it
had previously attempted; chalk that experience to hubris. However the ride
to Pickens and a tour along SC Hwy 11 Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway was
smooth and safe. Following a brief break at the Dalton's place we all rode
to nearby Twin Falls.

Sunday I rode back to Asheville from Pickens
and then on to Charleston. I rode the whole weekend with
out a lid but encountered no resistance. I did pass several
North Carolina State Troopers and Asheville cops along my
rides to and from. The return trip across South Carolina
was hot and dry.
This was a great weekend and my first free
from ABATE work in a long time. It good to just relax and
spend time with friends.
