High Shoals FallsPhotos and article by FastFred On Saturday July 29, 2006 I visited the South Mountains State Park along my way to Riders Roost. I arrived at the trail head just before light rain began to fall. I hiked at a brisk pace in hopes of reaching the waterfall in time to shoot some photos. The hike is only about a mile long oneway but a quarter mile of it is very steep; I got quite workout. This waterfall is pretty but it is nothing compared to the Big Bradley Falls. However South Mountain State Park is beautiful and camping there is very cheap at only $9 per site. |
