NORML Students Seeking Educations at CofCCollege of Charleston students marched, drummed, and chanted in opposition to the current campus policy toward marijuana. Kent a CofC NORML organizer says "the new drug policy requires a minimum of one suspension for the possession of any amount of marijuana; grouping it together in one category with harder drugs and intolerable acts such as theft, arson, and sexual misconduct." Two years ago students living in dorms were subject to losing on-campus housing but not suspension from school. Other students like Gray compared the cost of mid-semester suspension to a $7,000 fine while South Carolina Law has a $200 fine for simple possession of marijuana.
