Graveyard Fields along the Blue Ridge Parkway
Photos and article by FastFred Ruddock
Graveyard Fields are unlike any landscape one would expect to
find along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are plenty of trails to hike and
the thin air makes for quite a workout. The waterfalls in my opinion are not
the most spectacular but they are nearly a mile high near the top of the Blue
Ridge. All aspects that gave this flat valley its name were destroyed in a
great fire during 1925. Gone are the moss cover tree stumps and ancient remains
of a windstorm. However there are many places to camp and hike.
